We are excited to announce that Kubrick Group has adopted The Halo Code, the UK's first Black hair code.

Here at Kubrick we have always celebrated and welcomed Afro-textured hair worn in all styles. This Black History Month we have taken the steps to make it official by adopting The Halo Code as part of our continuing commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Adopting the Halo Code is signal not only to our internal employees but to those who are thinking about joining Kubrick that they don’t need to change who they are and how they present to thrive at work and are welcome to bring their authentic selves to work. We hope that the Halo Code will move us one step closer to a world free from discrimination, where all Black members of our community have their identities fully recognised and celebrated.

The Code: Our workplace champions the right of staff to embrace all Afro-hairstyles. We acknowledge that Afro-textured hair is an important part of our Black employees’ racial, ethnic, cultural, and religious identities, and requires specific styling for hair health and maintenance. We celebrate Afro-textured hair worn in all styles including, but not limited to, afros, locs, twists, braids, cornrows, fades, hair straightened through the application of heat or chemicals, weaves, wigs, headscarves, and wraps. In Kubrick, we recognise and celebrate our colleagues’ identities. We are a community built on an ethos of equality and respect where hair texture and style have no bearing on an employee's ability to succeed.

Together, we are fighting for the protection and celebration of Black hair and hairstyles.
