Kubrick welcome our first cohort of Cloud Engineering consultants into our training labs. This exciting new addition to the Kubrick collection of specialist practices reflects our commitment to align with and anticipate industry demand for skills across next-generation technology.

The Cloud Engineering training program is designed to teach more than the top tools. Their holistic understanding of cloud technology and its power to transform business capability will allow our consultants to continually advance their skills to meet the pace of change in technology. The areas of focus include:

Multi-cloud capability

We recognise that cloud technology comes in all shapes and forms – our Cloud Engineering program is multi-cloud proficient across Azure, AWS, and GCP to align with the variety of products our clients use.

Fundamentals of engineering data, software and infrastructure

It is critical that our consultants understand the internal workings of cloud technology to develop skills which go beyond tool usage. We provide a solid foundation in database management with training in SQL and Python, as well as infrastructure and its deployment within the Cloud as Infrastructure-as-Code.

Delivering sustainable, impactful solutions

Kubrick Cloud Engineers will be trained in the DevOps mindset to create deployment environments, implement agile Test-Driven Development collaboration, design automated testing strategies, and deploy and manage Docker containers, amongst other capabilities. We equip our consultants to handle all stages of the cloud transformation and management cycle, with an understanding of cost management as well as safeguarding data on the cloud.

Martin Palmer
, Head of Cloud Engineering at Kubrick, has used his 25 years of experience in development and delivery of systems to curate a training pathway which sits at the intersection of technical skill and business-focused delivery.

“I’m extremely excited to be training the next generation of cloud technology specialists who will be helping our clients to evolve and expand their capabilities, having supported a great many organisations in both the private and public sector through large scale systems changes (including cloud migrations). I have developed our programme to position Cloud Engineering as a high-impact solution for a variety of business problems, no matter which industry or at what stage in their transformation journey.

“I have seen at first-hand how the cloud can transform the shape of a business, providing a freedom of opportunity and scaling which could never be achieved internally, and learnt the importance of creating stable, repeatable systems. The job of the Cloud Engineer is so much more than delivery – we need to be strong communicators and problem solvers to ensure the maintenance of our products and reduce the risk of poor practices becoming the default.”

Simon Walker
, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, reflects upon the significance of the practice for our clients and the opportunities it will bring for our new consultants:

“The future is cloud – and the future is here. We founded Kubrick to give organizations an alternative and sustainable solution to evolving their technology capabilities, but also to give bright, ambitious minds the foundation for a career of longevity and success. We are delighted to be launching our fifth specialist practice as we continue in our mission to build a workforce with the skills to match the demands of today’s business environment and ultimately shape tomorrow’s world.

“Our Cloud Engineering practice is a fantastic example of how we collaborate with our technology partners, including Microsoft and AWS, to deliver training in the tools and technologies which our clients need to stay ahead of the curve.”
