The range of opportunities available at Kubrick now is completely different to when I first left, and that made returning an easy decision.

You recently rejoined Kubrick. What made you decide to come back?

I rejoined Kubrick in March this year [2025], and a big part of that decision was the team. The people and the culture really stood out to me and were something I genuinely missed. I was also excited by the growth in tech partnerships at Kubrick. There is a lot happening now, and it is not something you always get exposure to elsewhere.

What feels different about Kubrick compared to when you first left?

One of the biggest differences is the type of work you can get involved in. Previously, it was more of a traditional model where you would join a client and work there full time. Now there are far more ways to deliver work, including repeatable solutions that you can take ownership of and roll out across multiple clients. This makes the work feel much more varied.

Kubrick's tech partnerships have also helped change the organisation for the better. When I originally left, tech partnerships were not nearly as established as they are today. Now there are lots of opportunities to work with technologies like Snowflake, Databricks, and DBT - all of which I did not have exposure to before. These have been great for developing technical skills and accelerating career growth.

How has that shaped your experience since returning?

I have been exposed to a much wider range of technologies than before and have had more opportunities to lead projects and take on technical leadership roles alongside building management experience. I have also been able to get involved in areas I had not touched previously, such as commercial and sales conversations, being part of pitches and helping shape solutions much earlier in the client journey.

How clear are the progression opportunities at Kubrick now?

The recent restructure has made progression pathways much clearer. In the past, leadership roles could feel more limited to project management or people leadership. Now there is a well defined technical pathway that goes all the way up through senior manager, associate director, and director. This makes it easier to see how you can grow over the long term.

Would you recommend returning to Kubrick to other Alumni?

Definitely. Kubrick today feels very different to when I left, in a positive way. There are many ways to accelerate your career, both technically and through developing softer skills. The culture has always been strong, but the range of opportunities now through clients, delivery models, and partnerships makes it a great place to grow.
