Kubrick’s offering is truly brilliant to prospective consultants – not only can you get your foot in the door to multi-billion-pound enterprises, but you are also given robust training that prepares you for an exciting career in data and technology. Over the course of 15 weeks, you are exposed to a wide array of technical skills that are highly sought-after within the data industry, as well as soft skills that help prepare you for your client projects. It is truly incredible how much you learn in such a short space of time – despite it only being 15 weeks, a lot of the content is studied in detail and every part of it enables you to become industry-ready. The fact that you are paid to train makes the offer even more appealing.

Before joining Kubrick as a Data Management consultant, I completed a Master’s in Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London. I enjoyed this degree as it allowed me to advance my ability to solve problems using mathematic and analytic skills.

I was drawn to a career in data and technology due to the opportunities this industry provides – skilled workers in data and tech are highly sought-after across a wide range of sectors and will be for many years to come. This means that once you have developed your skillset enough, you will have the freedom to pursue whichever path appeals most to you.

This level of flexibility really attracted me to Kubrick in particular as they have five distinct practices spanning different areas of data and technology, and you have the freedom to select the path that's right for you upon application. Kubrick’s offering is truly brilliant to prospective consultants – not only can you get your foot in the door to multi-billion-pound enterprises, but you are also given robust training that prepares you for an exciting career in data and technology. Prior to joining Kubrick, I had some basic coding experience with Python but after the two weeks of training solely on Python and Pandas, I felt far more confident in my abilities. The training also gave me an excellent foundation for SQL, which is an essential tool when dealing with databases. The two-week project at the end of the SQL training really helped solidify the skills I had learnt and prepared me for my client project, which I am grateful for. The training has also given me a solid understanding of data governance and the implications it will have on a business, and the importance of data privacy and data literacy, which will aid me in my role as a Data Management consultant.

Kubrick has also expanded my network significantly. I was lucky enough to join a large cohort that welcomed 10 American counterparts to the UK for their training. It was a great experience training alongside people that were just as passionate and had travelled across the world to train, and I am pleased to now have connections in the data landscape across several industries around the world!

The project I am most proud of to date is the two-week project at the end of my training. I really enjoyed developing workflows in Collier, tackling problems as they came along and working as part of a team to reach a solution. Although the work was challenging, I found delivering a practical, working solution at the end of the project very satisfying and rewarding.

My advice to anyone that’s considering joining Kubrick would be to do some research and think about the opportunities you want to pursue further down the line before making any headway. Look at the skills you need, then apply to the practice that best aligns. If you are still unsure, you can always reach out to current consultants via LinkedIn as they are always happy to answer questions and share their personal experiences. This will give you a better understanding of the practices and help you reach a decision.

Looking back on the last four months, I have no doubt in my mind that Kubrick has accelerated my career to date and would recommend it to anyone. The sheer volume and quality of the content covered in training has allowed me to move into a very impactful role within my client placement, which I am sure would have taken me at least a few years to reach if it hadn’t been for Kubrick. The unrivalled training, in combination with the opportunity to work for industry giants and chance to expand your network, make applying for Kubrick a no-brainer.
