LONDON, SEPTEMBER 7 – Kubrick welcomed over 100 members of their ever-growing Alumni community for an evening of celebration and networking.

We launched Kubrick’s Alumni Network in April 2021, recognising the incredible opportunity of unifying our community beyond their tenure with Kubrick. The Network was met with enthusiasm from past consultants and has continued to go from strength to strength.

Hosted at London's 30 Euston Square, guests had the opportunity to connect with Kubrick's extensive Alumni Network and their fellow peers in the data and technology industry. The event was opened by a welcome address by Kubrick Co-Founder Simon Walker, who welcomed alumni to our second social of the year.

“It has been a true highlight to witness the amazing progress of our alumni. I’ve seen individuals with little or no background in data rapidly attain senior positions in amazing organisations and drive real change within them,” said Simon. “I am so pleased that just over a year later, 96% of Alumni actively engage with Kubrick as part of our Alumni Network, with 92% agreeing that Kubrick accelerated their career faster than a typical organisation in a recent survey. It is wonderful to be able to host Alumni socials having the chance to catch up and hear how they are doing and the successes they have found in their career.

Simon was joined by Snigdha Bircher, Product Owner, Data Integrity at Nationwide for a keynote on the importance of diversity when building your data teams.

Reflecting on the event, Snigdha said, “What a fantastic evening connecting and collaborating with our future industry leaders. Over the last few decades, we’ve created more data than ever before so if we are going to do anything worthwhile with it, we need to make doing data governance simpler than not doing data governance! Diversifying the data industry is at the heart of the solution, we cannot expect to start to see change and development if we do not acknowledge our blind spots and work with them not against them. It was wonderful to be able meet and engage with so many likeminded people, continuing the conversation throughout the evening.”

The event was attended by our Kubrick Alumni, many thanks to all those who attended from across the Kubrick network – you can find the highlights of the night here

Kubrick Alumni, Karina Gorasia, said: “I still connect with a lot of my Kubrick colleagues, both from the earlier cohorts and now; we're a close-knit community. I still keep in touch with those that have now left and remain close to them. Even though I left a couple of years ago, I still feel a part of Kubrick. I think everyone generally feels that way.”
